British Shorthairs are affectionate, loving and always ready to be your close buddy.  Known as the ‘teddy bear’ cat, they have luxurious short, dense, plush coats that is unique in the cat world.  Yet, wonderfully their coat requires minimal care.

Brits quietly follow you around the house, simply wanting to be in the same room as you.  They are quiet cats with low to non-existent meows.   Expect their active participation helping you reading the newspaper and typing eMails on the computer.  Love to sit near or next to you, but are usually not ‘lap cats’.   If you are in a room with the door closed, they will often wait outside the door in anticipation of your return.

Brits are not destructive.  They are very active as kittens and moderately active as adults.  Love to play with toys, teasers, balls, feathers, laser lights, and truly appreciate a good stretch on a tall sisal rope scratching post.

Brits will form strong bonds with the members of the family’s inner circle, including the current cats and dogs.  They wisely appreciate the nature of young children and will conveniently stay out of reach, preferring the companionship of an adult

Affection is often shown by rubbing heads with you, and soft warm body rubs.  They will put into the relationship the same amount you do.  They are not over-demanding for attention.  But, will respond in kind, if you like a good deal of attention.

We are retired and each of our kittens get full-time tender loving care.  Our kittens are truly brought up ‘under foot’.  Breeding is a hobby for us, as we seek to have a perfect British Shorthair named 'Cat of the Year'.

All of our litters are registered with the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA), and The International Cat Association (TICA).
